- Step 4. Lay artificial grass
- Step 5. Infill artificial grass

An artificial turf pitch is easy to maintain. In the case of artificial turf for private use or municipal applications, it is sufficient to regularly brush the artificial turf surface, remove debris and leaves and, if necessary, add sand. A relatively small effort for years of joy and reliable quality.
How long does it take to build a high school football stadium?
First, think about where you want to lay the artificial grass. In our case, it will serve as a base for a paddling pool. Once you have found the right location, mark the area. With us it is 3.50 m x 3.50 m tall. Mark the first corner with marking spray and measure the side lengths with the ruler. In order to achieve an even, square area, you also check whether the diagonals are of equal length. This is how you mark all the corners and the outline of the entire area.
Then you excavate the ground. To do this, first lift off the turf. To make this easier, pierce the earth once along the marking with the spade. It is best to hold it at an angle. Then you pierce individual lanes and fields in the lawn. You can easily lift off the resulting squares, also known as turf, with a flat shovel and throw them into a wheelbarrow. Support the shovel with your knee as you lift it off, so the leverage increases and you don’t have to use as much force. Tip: You should not throw away the sward because it is very fertile. To use them later in your garden, chop them up and put them on your compost.
In order to be able to bring the ground to the same height everywhere, stretch a batter board. To do this, use your mallet to pound twine nails into the ground at the corners. Use a tension knot to fasten the bricklaying cord at the level of the turf and connect the cord nails together. Use a tension knot for this as well. Continue digging up the area with the flat shovel until it is evenly excavated. In our case we want to get a depth of 8 cm everywhere. This can be easily checked with a ruler.
Create a bed of sand for the artificial grass. For this you take crushed sand, which is piled up to 2 cm under the turf and spread over the entire subsoil – in our case the sand layer is about 6 cm high. In this way, the artificial turf later lies flush with the rest of the lawn. Use the ruler to check the distance between the line and the crushed sand. This should now be 2 cm everywhere.
Tip: crushed sand or crushed sand is actually not sand, but fine gravel. Due to the sharp-edged shape of the rock, the crushed sand does not sink so easily and is therefore particularly suitable as a stabilizing filling material.

Now lay the artificial grass. You can check ot Reform Spor artifical grass range. In order to get a nice look, the viewing direction of the blades of grass is important. So that you can determine this, unfold the artificial turf parallel to the surface. Now roll up the artificial turf again and position it next to the excavated area. Lay it out so that there is an overhang again. You’ll cut it off later. Roll out the artificial grass on the ground. This is best done with two people. Make sure that the fleece does not slip when unrolling. To make the seam stable, tape it together with seam tape. To do this, fold back the lawn again and lay the tape under the artificial turf. Slowly peel off the protective film and gradually press the first mat firmly. Then you fold over the second mat and press it down firmly. To make the seam disappear as much as possible, you can twirl the blades of grass a little with your hands.
Anchor it in the ground so that the artificial turf cannot move afterwards. To do this, use special metal pegs and tap them loosely into the ground with a mallet or rubber mallet. Start at a corner and set a peg every 50 cm along the edge and on the surface. Don’t pound the pegs in too deeply so they don’t drag the lawn down.
Finally, spread sand over the entire artificial turf surface. Play sand is better suited for this than quartz sand, because quartz sand stores too much moisture. The sand ensures that the artificial turf is additionally weighed down. By enclosing the roots of the culms, they also stay upright. Spread the sand over the entire surface by hand and sweep it into the artificial turf with a broom until it can no longer be seen.
