Artificial grass offers many advantages over natural grass and requires almost no maintenance. It completely eliminates the need for irrigation, doesn’t require cleaning, and eliminates tasks like seeding and fertilizing. It also completely removes the need for an irrigation system. With Reform Sports quality, these systems offer long-lasting use and can provide trouble-free service for over 10 years when used correctly.
How to Install Artificial Grass: A Step-by-Step Guide
If you have decided to install artificial grass (also known as synthetic or artificial grass), the first step is ensuring the ground is level. If the area is uneven or has holes, we recommend seeking assistance from an experienced expert. The surface can be leveled with concrete to achieve a solid and smooth base.
After leveling the ground, a thorough cleaning is necessary. Not even a speck of dust should remain. This ensures the artificial grass you install will sit perfectly on the surface and provide a smooth appearance. Once cleaned, you can begin the application. However, keep in mind that methods may vary depending on the application area.
For example, different adhesives and sub-base procedures are required for surfaces like pool edges, terraces, or balconies. If the ground is to be installed on sand, special sub-layer materials should be used. Surfaces like terraces and pool edges, which are already level, can be applied directly. However, care should still be taken when selecting the adhesive.
When you’re fully prepared to apply, remember that the grass will be spread like a carpet. Pay attention to details like water drainage. If you have no experience with this process, it’s best to leave the job to a professional team to ensure the best results. 10 Steps for Installing Artificial Grass Without Issues
- The artificial grass you purchase will come with materials that match the ground.
- The area to be installed should be carefully cleaned. You can prepare the surface by wiping it with a damp cloth to ensure no dust remains.
- The adhesive should be applied evenly to the surface. Since it’s a strong adhesive, you need to work carefully.
- After applying the adhesive evenly, you can continue by laying thin fabric layers on the surface.
- After opening the drainage channels, place the grass on the surface and roughly position it.
- At this stage, you will need help. With 2-3 people holding the edges of the grass, stretch it. This will give you a flat and tight surface.
- If you’re using a single strip, the process is complete. However, if multiple strips are being used, they should be laid edge-to-edge without gaps.
- For edge trimming, use scissors to achieve clean edges.
- Secure the adjacent rolls of grass with industrial adhesive. Make sure they don’t overlap.
- In the final step, wait for 1-2 days for the adhesive to dry. You can apply tape on the strips you’ve applied to strengthen the bond.

Steps for Installing Synthetic Grass Carpet
Installing synthetic grass carpet is one of the most practical and aesthetic ways to create a natural grass look in gardens, balconies, or indoors. Preferred for its low maintenance and long lifespan, this material offers a very stylish appearance when installed correctly.
Preparing the Area
First, the area to be installed should be thoroughly cleaned. Stones, roots, and soil remnants on the surface should be removed, and a smooth surface should be created.
Leveling the Ground
If the ground is uneven, it should be leveled with soil. If the area is soil-based, high and low spots should be adjusted, and if necessary, sand or soil should be added to create a flat surface.
Placing Geotextile Fabric
After leveling the ground, geotextile fabric should be laid to ensure the grass carpet lasts longer. This fabric regulates water flow between the ground and the soil, preventing the growth of weeds.

Cutting and Installing the Grass Carpet
The synthetic grass carpet should be cut to match the dimensions of the area. After placing the cut pieces according to the shape of the area, if they need to be joined, the edges of the grass carpet should be glued together properly.
Gluing and Fixing the Grass Carpet
It is important to glue the edges and joints of the grass carpet with strong adhesive. Additionally, weights can be placed on the edges of the carpet to ensure the entire surface sits flat on the ground.
Brushing and Adjusting the Grass Carpet
The installed grass carpet should be brushed to achieve a natural look. This process helps the grass stand up and creates an aesthetic appearance. If necessary, special care sprays or protective liquids can be applied to the grass.
Final Check and Cleaning
In the final step, the level and fixation of the installed grass carpet should be checked. Additionally, any dust and debris in the area should be cleaned to complete the process.
